We ventured out into the forest again this afternoon, and the hill just before the forest entrance looked way to good to just walk by! We had a blast climbing up it, and then rolling back down again!

The children are certainly learning how to better play in the forest and how to utilize what is found there to build forts, structures, and make believe homes for animals. The forest has proven to be very valuable in helping us learn how to show respect for nature, and also how to work together as a team.

At the story log, Mrs. Kristensen read us What is Peace? by Tod Parr. The story had so many imaginative ways that we can show and understand peace. We then brainstormed ideas of our own, and drew and wrote the ideas on rocks. Some of us chose to place our peace rocks on the pathway that lines the forest, others hid them amongst the trees, and some put their rocks together to form a display. We had so many wonderful ideas about Peace- Peace is love, hugs, hearts, music, quiet, and the forest, just to name a few.
