Kilometer Club has begun! The children were so excited for our first run on Tuesday and many children already talked about trying run more kilometres then they did in kindergarten.  Please help us remember our running shoes on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Some of us may even leave a pair at school so that we don't forget.
Kilometer Club was just one of the fun activities we did outside on Tuesday. We also had our weekly Outdoor Learning afternoon in the forest, as well as a visit to Loutet Farm.
At Loutet, we toured the garden and noted some of the changes. We learned about compost and even dug through it for worms! Several of us found worm eggs and other insects living in there. We also had the opportunity to go into the greenhouse to sample different types of lettuce and even had a chance to try edible flowers.

We continue to enjoy all kinds books. Everyday we read to others, have teachers read to us, and we read to ourselves. We read pictures books, magazines, comics, poetry, and lately, have shown a lot of interest in non fiction texts. We are learning about some features of non fictions texts, specifically diagrams. Today we finished up the diagrams the we started last week. Mrs. Kristensen asked us to create a diagram based on something we know a lot about, and then, as a class,, we created a criteria based on what we had noticed about diagrams we had found in books.
