We had a special visit from Miss Stephanie on Tuesday. She told us all about cedar, or the "Tree of Life", as it is referred to as by many First Nation's communities. We learned about how it is harvested, why it is so useful, and the many things that can be made out of cedar. Miss Stephanie brought several artifacts made of cedar for us to touch and try on. Afterwards, we wrote down some of the facts we had learned.
In the afternoon we went outside to enjoy the sunshine and the snow. We made little snow volcanoes, added baking soda, vinegar and food colouring and watched them erupt!
