Our week ended with more Remembrance Day stories and discussions, as well as a school wide assembly. The boys and girls were so respectful and attentive during the assembly, and Mrs. Kristensen was so very proud of us all.

   We also had a visit to Loutet Farm where we noted some of the changes in the garden. We created small bouquets of dried flowers and herbs, and learned some of their names. 

  We discussed the importance of soil for growing things, and were guided by the essential question,

"what is soil made of?" We then began an experiment where we scooped up soil, placed it into jars, added water and took turns giving it a good shake. The jars are now on our classroom windowsill, and we are making observations as the mixture begins to settle and layers become more visible.
