Thursday began with some more printing practice of the letter "m" and guided reading. We also read a story called, Good Morning, World. We sat shoulder to shoulder, knee to knee with a partner and shared ideas about things in nature that we would like to say "good morning," to. We then created pages of our own for what will become a class book.

(Good Morning tiger, scaring all the animals).

(Good Morning bears, catching fish.)

(Good morning grass, blowing in the wind.)

(Good morning leaves, falling, falling down.)

After lunch we sat in a story circle, and Mrs. Kristensen brought out a basket and, one at a time, took objects out for us to discuss. We used the objects to predict what the story she was about to read might be about. The boys and girls had many different ideas and were able to build off one anothers' predictions. We correctly predicted that the story was about a scarecrow who waits in the field to protect the fall harvest. This book served as springboard for multimedia scarecrow art of our own.

That afternoon we also gathered as a school at Loutet Field for a warm up and the Terry Fox run.

Please be advised that Outdoor Learning begins this Tuesday October 3. The forecast is calling for sunshine, but the children should wear runners and have a jacket or sweatshirt as it will likely be quite cool in the shade of the forest.
