Sunday 1 December 2019

On Friday morning we went to our Grade 6 buddy class for a special science activity. We have been learning a lot about the sky and have explored how the earth's relationship with the sun gives us day and night. Part of this theme has also included learning a little bit about owls and other nocturnal animals.
Mrs. Kristensen asked us to predict what we thought an owl's prey might be. We recorded our predictions on our lab sheets. Then we dissected owl pellets and took a close look at the various bones to determine what the owl had eaten. We learned that owls eat birds, rodents, moles and shrews! We were so excited about what we had discovered that we asked our teacher if we could take the bones home- so Mrs. K let us glue them down onto black paper so that we could show you at home!
