Today we said "goodbye" to summer. We read several stories about summer, and then the children each wrote about, and illustrated all the things we will be saying "goodbye" to.
ex) Goodbye ice cream. Goodbye vacation, Goodbye flip flops. Mrs. Kristensen will put all of these pages together into a class book.

We really enjoyed silent reading today, and got the opportunity to stretch out on beach blankets around the room to share books with our friends.

When the sun came out this afternoon, we went outside for chalk, bubbles, jump rope and play, while enjoying some watermelon.

Afterwards we met some new friends from Mrs. Batista's Grade 1 class. We continued our "goodbye summer" theme by doing a "find someone who" activity which helped us learn each others names and a little bit about what they like. We are really looking forward to spending more time together during our Outdoor Learning afternoon next week!
