February is off to a great start and we have so many activities planned over the next few weeks. Two notices went home on Monday, one about Valentine's Day, and the other about 100's Day which will be celebrated on Thursday February 15. If you require another notice, there are extras in the classroom.
In preparation for Valentine's Day, we made Valentine's boxes with our Grade 7 buddies. The children had a blast and the results were adorable.

In math we have been working on addition strategies to memorize our basic facts. Some of strategies include counting up, using number lines, our fingers or manipulatives. We have discussed the property of zero, been learning our doubles facts, and adding 1 and 2 more to numbers to help us memorize our facts.

We continue to have a lot of fun during Outdoor Learning and have been exploring force and motion through various activities in the forest. Yesterday we were given the challenge of creating a raft with our Outdoor Learning partner, and then tested our designs in the creek.
