The children were excited to be back and see their friends this week, and to share stories about what they had done over the holidays. We have been discussing all things "new."
In math we are practising our doubles facts (3+3=6, 5+5=10) and are gaining a conceptual understanding of "putting together."
We had a dry, but cool day playing in the forest on Tuesday. We visited our sit spots, read a story, and played a game called "touchstone" in which the students used their sense of touch to feel a rock, and then used descriptive language (rough, smooth, bumpy etc.) to describe the rock.

Finally, here are some pictures from the gingerbread houses we made on the last day of school before the break!
