When we finally arrived at the forest, we enjoyed some free play. Many of us continued the forts we started building last week, some of us dug holes, and other collected bugs so that we could take a closer look at them. We read a story at the story log which helped us focus our attention to all the things that exist in the forest. After, we used magnifying glasses to examine things more closely, and then we sketched and labeled 4 things that we found.

This afternoon we head out into the forest to enjoy the sunshine and warm autumn day. On our way to the forest we noticed that the sprinklers in Loutet Park were on, so we of course, had to stop so that we could all run through them!

Over the past few weeks we have continued to read books and poems about fall, and have been collecting and identifying the leaves of tress indigenous to our area. We looked at pictures in books and used them to help us name some of the leaves that we collected. This inspired us to create some leaf art using oils pastels which we hope to complete later this week.
