The past few days have been spent reading books about Thanksgiving and discussing those things that we are most thankful for. The boys and girls had a lot of ideas, and we also tried to think about the people and experiences we have had that make us the most happy.

Yesterday we were happy to meet our Grade 7 buddies from Mrs. Dolan's class.  We read a funny story called The Night Before Thanksgiving, by Dav Pilkey. The story was about a class of children who visit a farm and try to disguise the turkeys there to save the  from being eaten on Thanksgiving. So that's just what we did with our buddies. We worked together to create disguises for our own turkeys to save them from the dinner table. The results are very creative- please come by and have a look.

We also had our first day of Outdoor Learning! We walked past Loutet Park, through a path along the trees, and into the forest. We discussed safety and respect for the forest, and then enjoyed some free play. We read a story at the story log which helped focus us so that we could learn how to take a closer look at the forest. Then we applied these skills to complete a scavenger hunt to get to know our new surroundings a little better.
